Description

A foundational course on the Old Testament from a Christ-centered perspective, with emphasis on certain books and passages for understanding the New Testament and how the Scriptures are a united whole.

Requirements

  1. Class attendance on the announced dates.
  2. Reading and Memory
    1. Key Chapters of the Old Testament (see below) – to be read prior to coming to the classes
    2. God and History by Gordon Ferguson (PDF File); a hardcopy will also be given in class
    3. Bible passages for memory: Genesis 3:15; 12:1-3; Jeremiah 31:31.
  3. For credit students only:
    1. In preparation for the final exam: Read Chapter 5 and 9 (Old Testament narratives; The Law) of Gordon Fee and Douglas Stuart, How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth, 3rd or 4th edition. ISBN-10: 0310246040; ISBN-13: 978-0310246046.
    2. Final Exam (to be answered online and emailed back by one month after the classes)
