Program Purpose

The Asia-Pacific Leadership Academy is a ministry school geared towards developing church leadership. Through Bible-based course offerings, Christians are better equipped to serve in various capacities and settings.

Program Overview

The Academy offers of three tracks of training: a track for those who are church supported leaders (Ministry Track); a second track for more mature disciples who can be trained to fill shepherding roles, some of whom will ultimately be appointed elders (Shepherding Track); and a third, individually customized type track to further train those who serve in a variety of leadership roles (Elective Track).

Program Philosophy

Many different approaches to ministry and leadership training have been used in our movement over the years. We appreciate all of these efforts and all who led in developing and teaching them. Much has been learned, including the need for developing more effective ways of providing such training.

Program Costs

Higher education is not an inexpensive proposition. Neither is education for ministry. At APLA we offer high quality education with international standards at a financial level within reach for those in third world Asia. With many add-ons the rates become prohibitive; yet we also understand that cutting costs too much can have serious consequences.

Program Requirements

  • Advance reading of a book, e.g. “How to Read the Bible for all its Worth” by Gordon Fee and Douglas Stuart
  • Attendance at the seminar session (either 3 or 4 days)
  • Online assignments
  • Comprehensive exam
