Program Overview

The Academy offers of three tracks of training: a track for those who are church supported leaders (Ministry Track); a second track for more mature disciples who can be trained to fill shepherding roles, some of whom will ultimately be appointed elders (Shepherding Track); and a third, individually customized type track to further train those who serve in a variety of leadership roles (Elective Track).

* Church History gives attention to various denominational doctrines that developed at different stages of history. Paul’s Ministry and Message surveys his general ministry in Acts and the Epistles, several of which will be covered in more depth. Prophecy features a general OT treatment, followed by a survey of Revelation. Since a number of NT books will be covered in Paul’s Ministry and Message and Prophecy, the New Testament Survey will have a special emphasis on the ministry of Jesus, with a focus on one of the Gospels.

The Academy offers eight “ministry” courses in Track One which features a basic biblical focus. In addition to these courses, several practical courses will be added from the Shepherding Track in order to equip students to handle a variety of life challenges faced by their members. Each track will be well-defined and a Diploma of graduation offered to all who successfully complete the required courses (eleven total for the Diploma). Further continuing education courses can be taken once the basic required courses are completed. Eight courses will be required for certification in the other two tracks.

The courses of track three (Elective Track) will be comprised of a combination of the courses in both tracks one and two, individually adapted to meet the needs of each participant, based on three variables: their own prior training and experience, the leadership role in which they are presently serving, and the needs of the ministry group they are serving. Those in the elective track may also take continuing education courses for their own added learning.
